5 – 8 May 2025
Themed “Overcoming Paralysis”, the GenZero Climate Summit 2025 will focus on driving conversations to move beyond the inaction and indecision on climate action. The Summit will delve into the root causes of paralysis, including policy and regulatory uncertainty, macro headwinds, financial constraints and weakened trust in carbon markets.
In addition to our flagship GenZero Climate Summit on 6 May 2025, we will also be convening the following events this year.
- 5 May 2025: The GenZero Climate Summit Insights is a new collaborative series of events that GenZero will co-organise with like-minded organisations from time to time. The series will unlock fresh perspectives from GenZero and other partner organisations on pressing climate and sustainability issues.
- 7 May 2025: The GenZero Climate Summit 2025: Closed-door Carbon Regulatory Roundtable is an invitation-only forum focused on the critical role of regulatory oversight to effectively build and scale a high-quality and well-functioning voluntary carbon market.
- 8 May 2025: The GenZero Climate Summit 2025: The CEO Gathering will bring together C-suite leaders at climate solutions companies, technology firms, multilateral development banks and international standard setters, as well as senior government representatives, to exchange insights on future-proofing carbon businesses. The invitation-only Gathering aims to foster dynamic discussions among key decision-makers on ways for businesses to build strategic resilience in a rapidly developing carbon market landscape.

Transition Credits as an Enabler for Asia’s Just Transition
Coal continues to dominate as the main source of energy generation in Asia as the region’s economy and population grows. The shift from coal to cleaner energy requires systemic change and practical incentives. Transition credits have a role to play in facilitating this just transition in Asia as an innovative financing mechanism to accelerate the early closure of coal-fired power plants. This panel discussion will explore the case for transition credits in Asia and the catalytic role that the private sector plays in developing pilot projects that can serve as a blueprint for the region’s energy transition at scale.
