In November 2025, the world will gather in Belém, Brazil, for COP30, the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference. Taking place for the first time in the Amazon region, this landmark event underscores the critical role of tropical forests, Indigenous peoples, and the Global South in shaping global climate solutions. Hosted by the Government of Brazil and held under the UNFCCC, COP30 will bring together heads of state, negotiators, civil society, and the private sector to accelerate climate action, assess progress since the Paris Agreement, and strengthen national commitments in the face of escalating climate impacts. Key themes will include climate finance, adaptation, just transitions, and loss and damage, with a strong focus on frontline communities and intergenerational leadership.
