Peter Bakker is a distinguished business leader, who since 2012, has led the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as the President & CEO. WBCSD is the premier global, CEO-led community of over 250 of the world’s leading sustainable businesses working collectively to accelerate the system transformations needed for a net zero, nature-positive, and equitable future. Prior to WBCSD, Peter was the CEO of TNT NV, the global transport, postal and logistics company.
TIME Magazine recently named Peter as one of the Top 100 Climate Leaders in Business. He was also a recipient of the Clinton Global Citizen Award (2009), the Sustainability Leadership Award (2010) and the Prix Voltaire International (2023). He received the royal order Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau in 2018 in recognition of his long-lasting commitment to engaging business in tackling global sustainability issues.
Peter holds several corporate sustainability advisory board positions, including as Director of GenZero, Commissioner of the Business Commission to Tackle Inequality and Member of the Energy Transition Accelerator High-Level Consultative Group.

Dr Ben Caldecott is the founding Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and the inaugural Lombard Odier Associate Professor of Sustainable Finance at the University of Oxford. Ben specialises in environment, energy, and sustainability issues and works at the intersection between finance, public policy, and academe, having held senior roles in each domain.
He currently serves on the UK Climate Change Committee Adaptation Committee, on DBS Bank’s Board Sustainability Committee, UK Export Finance’s Export Guarantees Advisory Council, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Technical Council, and as a Trustee of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). Ben is also Chair of the International Transition Plan Network (ITPN) Advisory Group.

Ashley is Investment Director at GenZero, leading the company’s investments in carbon ecosystem enablers. Prior to this role, Ashley was part of the Strategy and Development Group where she led the development of GenZero’s investment strategy.
Before GenZero, she was Director in Temasek International’s Sustainability Group, focusing on developing sustainability strategy in the areas of carbon markets, climate and nature, sustainability investing and sustainable finance. Prior to the Sustainability Group, Ashley was in the Investment Group and made investments of over US$5b across over 10 transactions in retail, restaurants, and personal care subsectors globally. Ashley started her career at the CIMB Group.

Christoph Gebald is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Climeworks. He is a mechanical engineer by training, holding a master’s degree with distinction and a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich. During his PhD, Christoph researched direct air capture technologies and founded Climeworks on this basis together with Jan Wurzbacher in 2009.
With more than 15 years of experience in CO2 capture from the air, he is considered by his peers as an expert in this growing and important industry.

She was previously a Director in Temasek International’s Sustainability Group, accumulating more than 10 years of experience investing in global companies across diverse industry sectors, including transportation, logistics, industrials and real estate. She also led early-stage supply chain technology investments at Reefknot Investments, a joint venture fund between Temasek and Kuehne+Nagel.

Mark serves as Executive Director of the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), an independent organisation whose mission is to enable high integrity carbon markets.
With a background in development and environmental economics, Mark has worked across various areas of environment and climate policy for over two decades, with a particular focus on the use of economic instruments in the pursuit of sustainable development.
His previous roles include: Managing Director at Climate Advisers, a Washington DC-based environmental consultancy; Chief Executive of Mongoose Energy Ltd, then the UK’s largest developer and manager of community energy projects; and Chief Executive at The Climate Group. He was co-founder of both the Verified Carbon Standard and the Gold Standard.
He serves as a member of the Governing Board of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market and is also currently a board member of Verra, Chair of Brighton and Hove Energy Services Coop and a member of the International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Markets and the Time CO2 Advisory Council.

Daniel chaired the Bank of England Climate Risk Working Group and the Sustainable Finance Working Group at the Institute of International Finance. Rachel Kyte was appointed UK Special Representative for Climate on 21 October 2024.
She is Professor of Practice in Climate Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and dean emerita of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Rachel was previously Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and CEO of Sustainable Energy for All.
She has also served as World Bank Group Vice President and Special Envoy for Climate Change, as well as Vice President for Sustainable Development at the World Bank, and for Business Advisory Services at the International Finance Corporation.
Rachel has held non-executive director, trustee and board member roles with a number of private and public financial institutions, as well as non-profit organisations, focused on climate and development.

Scobie Mackay is the CEO of Imperative, a next generation carbon credit project development company. Scobie has more than 20 years’ experience spanning voluntary carbon, emerging markets, international trade, cross-border commodities transactions and structured finance.
Previously Global Head of Origination, Structuring and Sales for Macquarie Group’s Global Carbon Business, Scobie has sat on the Taskforce on Scaling the Voluntary Carbon Market, the Sustainable Markets Initiative Working Group on Carbon Markets, the Environmental Defense Fund & High-Tide Foundation Steering Committee on Mobilizing Voluntary Carbon Markets and other thought-leading forums in the voluntary carbon space.

William McGoldrick is the Regional Managing Director for The Nature Conservancy’s Asia Pacific division and Co-Chair of the Southeast Asia Climate & Nature-based Solutions (SCeNe) Coalition. Based in Australia, he leads a US$70 million program across 15 countries and territories in support of TNC’s two foremost global priorities: protecting lands, oceans and freshwater; and tackling climate change through innovative, science-based mitigation and adaptation strategies.
Over a 20-year conservation career, Will has developed deep experience in corporate practices, international negotiations, philanthropy and government policies and programs. He joined TNC in 2015 and previously held staff positions as director of climate strategy and Asia Pacific conservation director, where Will oversaw teams focused on expanding protected areas in Mongolia, restoring shellfish reefs in Hong Kong and conserving forest landscapes in Indonesia, among other initiatives.

Carbon Markets 2.0: Will 2024 be a Year of Redemption?
Mr Ravi Menon has a portfolio of work in sustainability, innovation, and inclusion.
Mr Menon is Singapore’s first Ambassador for Climate Action and Senior Adviser to the National Climate Change Secretariat at the Prime Minister’s Office. He plays a leading role in Singapore’s efforts to foster collective action internationally and transition planning locally towards a low-carbon future. He is also Chairman of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) Asia-Pacific Advisory Board and a member of the GFANZ Principals Group.
Mr Menon is Chairman of the Global Finance & Technology Network, a not-for-profit company which harnesses technology and fosters innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems globally. He is also a Trustee of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Chairman of its Innovation and Enterprise Committee; and a Senior Fellow at the Civil Service College.
Mr Menon is Chairman of ImpactSG, a start-up charity which aims to grow a community of purposeful givers in Singapore and Asia. He is also a Board Member of The Majurity Trust, a philanthropy which deploys cause-based funds to address social needs; and a Trustee of the Singapore Indian Development Association, a community self-help group.
Prior to his current roles, Mr Menon served for 36 years in the Singapore Public Service.
As Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (2011-23), Mr Menon oversaw monetary and macroprudential policies, reformed the financial regulatory framework, and developed Singapore as a green finance centre and a global FinTech hub. On the international front, he served as Chairman of the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System and Chairman of the Financial Stability Board Standing Committee on Standards Implementation.
As Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade & Industry (2007-11), Mr Menon helped to steer the economy during the global financial crisis. As Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance (2003-07), he oversaw fiscal policy and government reserves.
Mr Menon is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal from the Singapore Government, the Distinguished Alumni Award from NUS, and the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award from the Institute of International Finance in Washington.
Mr Menon holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Economics from NUS.

Amy Merrill is the Chief Executive Officer of the ICVCM, the independent global governance body that sets and enforces threshold quality standards for the voluntary carbon market.
Between 2011 and 2021, Amy led the UNFCCC support to the development of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, leading negotiations and drafting that resulted in adoption of the Article 6 implementing rules at COP26 (2021). Amy was also the senior lawyer at UNFCCC for the Kyoto carbon mechanisms and the Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement compliance committees. Before UNFCCC, Amy was a leading carbon and climate finance lawyer in the City of London, working with MDBs and investment banks. After UNFCCC, Amy was senior legal counsel at a natural capital asset manager and then worked as interim COO at ICVCM on secondment from the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES). Amy is a qualified UK lawyer with more than 20 years of experience.

Anshari is a Director in the Strategy and Development Group (Policy & Analytics) at GenZero, and he is responsible for providing thought leadership on policy, regulations and standards in support of GenZero’s investment activities.
Before GenZero, he was a climate change negotiator with the National Climate Change Secretariat under the Prime Minister’s Office. He had represented the Singapore Government at various multilateral fora such as the UNFCCC, UNCBD, IPCC and ASEAN. In total, Anshari has accumulated over 10 years of experience in multilateral negotiations and policymaking.
Anshari has coordinated whole-of-government initiatives such as Singapore’s updated Nationally Determined Contribution and carbon markets strategy. He was also the lead carbon markets negotiator for Singapore, and has co-chaired expert level negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (international market and non-market based cooperation).

The Next Stage for Climate Tech: The Support and Scale Needed
Mandy Rambharos is the Chief Executive Officer of Verra, the world’s leading voluntary carbon market standard. With over two decades of experience in the energy and climate sectors, Mandy is a recognized leader in global climate cooperation and just energy transitions.
Before joining Verra, Mandy served as Vice President for Global Climate Cooperation at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), where she directed multilateral climate engagements and led initiatives, including working on the Energy Transition Accelerator, to advance carbon markets and carbon pricing strategies that promote low-emissions futures while supporting marginalized communities.
Her work at the global level was pivotal in shaping global climate policies under the Paris Agreement, working closely with international bodies such as the United Nations, G20, Business and multilateral organizations. Mandy’s career also includes a significant tenure at South Africa’s Eskom Holdings, the largest electric utility on the African continent.
As General Manager for Just Energy Transition, she was instrumental in developing Eskom’s strategy to transition from a coal-dominated utility to a renewable energy player. Mandy’s expertise in the energy industry, mitigation, climate financing, and global climate negotiations was crucial in establishing the Just Energy Transition Partnership at COP26, a landmark agreement between South Africa and major international partners including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
A former negotiator for South Africa and Africa, at the United Nations climate talks, Mandy co-chaired the successful outcome of Article 6 at COP26, which governs international carbon markets under the Paris Agreement.

Kimberly is Managing Director and Head of Investments at GenZero. She oversees GenZero’s investments, and leads the firm’s portfolio construction and investment strategy to achieve its dual goals of positive climate impact and long-term sustainable financial returns. She is also a member of GenZero’s Investment Committee.
Prior to her appointment at GenZero, Kimberly spent twelve years at Temasek International, focusing on investments in the transportation and logistics sector where she helped to build a multi-billion global logistics portfolio. With a particular focus on China and Southeast Asia, she led deal origination and execution resulting in notable investments including LF Logistics and ZTO Express, market leaders in various parts of the e-commerce logistics value chain. She also played a key role in landmark transactions involving core Singapore transportation assets which required complex technical execution and broad-based stakeholder management.
Kimberly also developed and led a new mobility strategy to build exposure to the electrification and digitalisation of transportation, the enabling supply chain and supporting infrastructure.

Frederick is the CEO of GenZero. He oversees the strategic direction of the company to achieve both climate impact and sustainable long-term financial returns.
Prior to his appointment at GenZero, Frederick held various leadership positions in Sustainability, Portfolio Management and Business Continuity Management in his 12 years at Temasek International. As Managing Director of Sustainable Solutions, he established the team and conceived capability programmes in clean energy, urban, and climate and nature solutions. He led key initiatives such as the establishment of Climate Impact X, a global marketplace and exchange for carbon credits, as well as Singapore’s first brownfield distributed district cooling retrofit project in partnership with SP Group. He also worked on value creation projects with some of Temasek’s large portfolio companies like SingTel and Mediacorp, and led corporate governance and stewardship initiatives within the Portfolio Management team. Frederick also took the lead in several community programmes. In 2014, he partnered Temasek Foundation to execute a nationwide delivery of mask kits during a severe haze episode and worked with ST Engineering on the development of the world’s first N95 masks specifically designed for young children.
Frederick is currently a member on the Advisory Panel of the Centre for Liveable Cities which was established by Singapore’s Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Sustainability and Environment to create and share knowledge on sustainable cities.
Frederick holds a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and a BA and MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Lincoln College, Oxford University.
