Mission statement

Asia-Pacific accounts for a significant and growing share of global aviation activity, yet corporate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) demand remains nascent.
Founded by GenZero and the World Economic Forum in 2025, Green Fuel Forward (GFF) is an initiative designed to scale corporate demand for SAF across the Asia-Pacific region.
By bringing together corporate buyers, airlines, and fuel suppliers, GFF builds capacity to support aviation decarbonisation, policy engagement, and facilitates the structured procurement of sustainable aviation fuel certificates (SAFc). Through SAFc, corporate buyers can address aviation-related Scope 3 emissions while providing the clear demand signals producers need to unlock investment in new SAF production capacity. This, in turn, can help reduce the green premium associated with SAF and accelerate its adoption across the region.
The initiative complements ongoing work by international standards bodies to advance the use of book-and-claim mechanisms, while contributing to global aviation decarbonisation.

Accelerating demand for sustainable aviation fuels in Asia-Pacific

Through SAFc, corporate buyers and airlines can support SAF production and account for the associated emissions reductions, even where direct access to physical SAF is limited.
However, navigating the sustainability, accounting, and procurement considerations involved can be challenging, particularly in a region where the market is still developing.
GFF helps address these challenges by aggregating demand, connecting buyers with suppliers, and building the procurement capabilities needed to help organisations move from ambition to action.

Our progress and the path forward

GFF has built a growing community of organisations spanning corporate buyers, airlines, fuel producers, and professional services firms across Asia-Pacific.
In its first year, GFF focused on building market awareness and procurement readiness across the region, helping members understand and navigate the SAF and SAFc landscape.
As GFF enters its next phase, the focus shifts to active procurement: running aggregated Request for Proposals (RFPs), facilitating supplier connections, and helping organisations to progress to transactions.
Leaders in aviation, logistics and finance, as well as international organisations, are rallying behind GFF, joining forces to accelerate demand for SAF across Asia-Pacific and drive meaningful progress toward a low-carbon aviation future.
