SINGAPORE – 2 April, 2024 – GenZero, a Temasek-owned investment platform company committed to accelerating global decarbonisation, will be convening the 2nd edition of its flagship GenZero Climate Summit (GCS). Taking place from 15 to 17 April 2024, the Summit will gather a diverse panel of international leaders from governments, climate investment firms, standard-setting bodies and corporates to exchange insights on the crucial steps needed to accelerate the scale-up of promising solutions, enhance the role of carbon markets in facilitating a just energy transition, and reach net-zero by 2050.
Themed ‘The Next Steps’, the GenZero Climate Summit 2024 (GCS) will spotlight the pivotal and concrete course of actions required to overcome challenges and accelerate decarbonisation globally. Apart from the flagship Summit on 16 April 2024, this year’s GCS will also include two dedicated practitioner-focused events on 15 and 17 April 2024:
- 15 April 2024: GenZero Climate Summit 2024: Tech Forum ‘Harnessing Tech Solutions to Accelerate Decarbonisation’. Sessions will discuss progress in tech areas such as sustainable aviation fuel, marine fuels, carbon removal technologies, and insights to navigate the quality and pricing challenges of technology-based carbon dioxide removal credits.
- 17 April 2024: GenZero Climate Summit 2024: Senior Legal Roundtable ‘Forging the Future: In-House and Practising Lawyers Playing Our Part to Accelerate Decarbonisation’. The roundtable sessions will discuss the importance of clarifying the legal nature of carbon credits in scaling carbon markets, as well as best practices and emerging trends in embedding enforceable climate mitigation outcomes into investments.
